I gotta say, this is a lot of fun so far! It reminds me of The Cabin in the Woods in a really good way.

There’s a long history of scholarship the author could have used to explain why the Bible doesn’t support abortion. I wish she went into that here. It would make her argument much more persuasive.

Ughhhh. Yeahhh this is why I normally don’t read romance, haha.

Not really a fan of how immature the protagonist is acting. :/ She’s in her 30s, right? She should be old enough to take some responsibility for her actions, especially when others are negatively impacted.

The section on behavioral euthanasia was really hard to read. :( It’s heartbreaking to think about how some cases of reactivity are so bad that that’s really the only option to keep everyone safe. Fortunately my dog is nowhere near that level, but it’s still not something I like to think about.

??? Is it ethical for a therapist to diagnose an acquaintance of one of their patients? Especially if all they have to go on is the patient’s description of the person? That doesn’t seem right to me…

Man, my heart hurts for both Patric and her mom. :( What a difficult situation to be in, both of them just aching to understand and to be understood.
