I am going to give this one a break and maybe pick it up later. Well written but something is just not working for me right now.
I wanted to love it so much. It really is well written, and I know she had to put her all into it.
I just can't finish it right now, so I am moving on.

This is such a good book! I really like how she is more personal in this book (I like a lot of her books). It's helpful to know how she schedules her day. And the exercises are wonderful; Blast the Block was so helpful.
As with almost everything Julia Cameron, I love it so far.

Not her typical novel, but this was her first. Big changes were ahead for her writing, that much becomes clear if you've read some of her other novels.

Rebecca is finished with The Magnolia Story
I am not sure that I like reading about their personal lives. It left me conflicted, yet I couldn't help but like them and I don't even know why. Some things left me feeling uncomfortable. Buying houses, a boat, more on a whim without a word to his wife. Leaving the baby twice and since nothing really bad happened we are all supposed to just laugh it off like, "Well, that's Chip!." Ummmm. No.
The book was okay.

I enjoy watching them decorate, but my first impression of this book was not what I expected. This may be an unpopular opinion but I am disappointed in this story. Honestly, it made me kind of sad. In the book he seems impulsive and some of the things he does I just don't find funny or charming. Sorry. I'm going to see it through though.

Someone has loaned me this book; I find Chip impulsive; he doesn't seem to think about how his quick decisions impact the people around him. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is the vibe I get from this book. She seems to have no boundaries and seems to talk herself into being okay with everything he does. They are very talented. I feel like my opinion might be unpopular but honestly, this is the vibe this book gives me.

Such a personally tough read right now. I've questioned why I am reading this now, but I can't put it down. She is so brutally honest about her experience, herself, her own growth and the changes and growth of her family members. I feel like I am reading about someone's metamorphosis and reflection. As much as a beautiful and generous thing that these pages are, they are a very tough read. It's worthy.
