ew Laia and Elias are (finally?) getting it on and they have literally 0 chemistry. I just don’t see it. I mean Elias might’ve been hot in book 1 where he was a dangerous mask, but for the past 2 books has been acting like everyone’s protective big brother. as far as I’m concerned he has exactly 0 sex appeal.

how am I not even at the halfway mark? it definitely feels like I’m in the 3rd act.

I really, really dislike Murphy. If she mistrusts Dresden so much, she should stop asking for his help. I’ve been waiting for the sweet retribution of him refusing to help her and keeping a shred of dignity since last book, but I think I’ll be left waiting for a long time.

I missed being in this world. So happy I decided to do a reread before the last book, it’s been a while.

I need to start over on the Kindle, because the Audible narration is unbearable. I draw the line at giving Jem an accent he hasn’t had for the past ten books. It just doesn’t feel like Jem. Plus, he left China at 10, and has been living in England for the past hundred years. Make it make sense.

I’m.. getting into it. Probably.

I’m having a weird experience reading this book: even though I’m objectively liking it, I find it hard to get sucked in. I think it's because I’m in this weird limbo of feeling like I kind of know these characters, when really all I have are small snapshots and anecdotes from previous books/novels. I want to dive in and fall completely in love, but my impatience is making it hard to enjoy the process.

- the writing is absolutely amazing but.. can't help feeling Eric is manipulating Nate and pushing through his boundaries
- fucking in a public library: disrespectful and gross
