Abandoned. Wanted to love it, but just can't get into it no matter how hard I try.

Characters are real, interesting, and compelling--having a great time watching them move through this story!

The first half of the book was extremely tedious. Now that some romance is blossoming, it's a bit more interesting...still don't know if I'll make it to the end.

Waaaaaay too much "telling" and not enough "showing." Found it hard to like (or even relate to) the protagonist...so much so that I abandoned the book for several weeks, then came back to it when I needed something to keep my brain occupied while I cleaned. It started to pick up in Ch 9/10 when another character (one I like) was introduced. Still not a fan of the protag, but interested enough to keep listening.

Sounds inspiring so far, but I have a sinking feeling that despite her assurances that no one following her advice has ever struggled with housekeeping again (...!?...), I will still have to, in the end, work on my house each day to maintain the effect she's talking about -- put things back immediately after using them and all that jazz. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the MAGIC part...

Despite the interesting twist on an old fairy tale, I've had a hard time staying interested in this story. Maybe it's the heavy emphasis on all things tech/mechanical...interesting conceptually, but wading through all that mechanical language just isn't my thing. It's finally getting more interesting/emotionally resonant at the midpoint...enough to keep me reading.
