Reasonable sci-fi, but now dated. The latter half of the book is mostly dialogue and, it seems to me, not a great deal happens... Not enough incentive to continue with the series unfortunately. I can, however, see why the Apple series was so confusing and seemingly shallow in content -- albeit that it looks spectacular.

Not bad, but probably the most disappointing of all Hamilton books. Very little happens to progress the story, with a great deal of padding. Of course I'll buy book 3, but when I get back to re-read this particular series, I don't think I'll bother with book 2.
