While I really enjoy the writing, I feel like I'm being swamped with details that exist only for their own sake instead of being an integral part of the story. I need to take a break.

It's been a long time since I stopped reading the Saga of Seven Suns. Picking this up to continue the series after a few years has passed was too much for me. I may need to go back a book or two to get my bearings.

Mary Vaughan, walking into the rape crisis centre and talking to the staff was really difficult to read. I feel like something as brutal as Mary's ordeal needs a warning.
