& that was Tuesday. are we not worthy
of a city of ash? of 1000 ships
launched because we are missed?
—Found Danez Smith looking through poems to teach to my eighth graders. This whole poem, “not an elegy for Mike Brown,” was so compelling that I am really looking forward to reading this collection!
