This is a complete mindf*ck of a book. Wow. Not an easy read, not easy to get into, and definitely not a little light, escapist sci-fi. I've seen this on so many recommendations lists, but I'm not sure I know many people I'd actually recommend this to. For people who like math, complicated, obtuse world-building, and being thrown into the deep end of a world on the first page. Having said all that...wow. Amazing.
