i still don’t quite understand where this book is going but i’m enjoying it all the same

Gene Wolfe died today.

I bought this paperback at the Strand (where Wolfe’s books are accessible only by ladder last I checked) almost 2 years ago on the way to see The Birthday Massacre and had it stuffed in my raincoat pocket during the concert. I love this one

I hate when books of this era mention food because it's always completely disgusting. The supposedly delicious fancy dinner is cold chicken in aspic with celeri rémoulade and I feel ill
