I was able to get a skip-the-line copy of this E-book from the library but wasn’t able to finish reading it before it expired and my kobo died. Will have to wait months for my hold to come in so I can finish it!

I’m 13 hours into this 28 hour audiobook and I think I’m going to DNF. I both read and listened to this book but it’s too long and Rothfuss is long winded about everything. I need more things to happen, more action, more things driving the plot forward. Knowing the next book is even longer and the third book isn’t written yet, there will be no satisfying conclusion at the end of this slog.

I tried reading this book a few years ago but didn’t give it much of a chance. It’s very thick (722 pages) and I have to push through all the world building so I can become invested in the fantasy. But it’s super highly rated and my co-worker at the library recommended it as his favourite book of all time. I put the book on hold 9 months ago and it finally arrived! I’m giving it a good solid go this time.

I never read this when it was wildly popular. I’m reading it now alongside my 13 year old daughter. So far I think Bella is not a very likeable character. She’s always grumpy about everything. I could play a drinking game for every time bella scowls or someone sighs.
