Learning a lot about good writer habits. Diana Gabaldon and I speak a similar writing language.

This is a compelling read, but I can only sit down with Donald for no more than 90 minutes each day. He and his father are such evil, twisted things.

Learning more about the Shawnee in the Ohio Territory. I've had passing knowledge about Cornstalk, Blue Jacket, and Tecumseh, but I am learning more about the strain placed on their people with the settlement of Marietta on the Ohio River.

Interesting story about the passing of the Northwest Ordinance that opened up the creation of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin to the settlement by the eastern United States. The Ordinance passed in 1787 at a time when Congress was meeting in New York City, the capital of the new nation, and the new U.S. Constitution was being created in Philadelphia.

Excellent read that clarifies my known history about the policies of colonial America and weaves this information to create the Shenandoah Valley experience in the early 18th century. Wonderful material for Amos' story.

Interesting read on page 183:

"Let's broaden our thinking," said Ishikawa. "A new form of coronavirus? Faster than SARS? That baby can mutate fast, but it's a tortoise compared to this bunny. This didn't take days to develop. Hours at best."

There's more, but this is an interesting novel to read during an interesting time. . . and as the old curse goes--May you live in interesting times.

I began reading this March 18, but forgot to post. It is certainly a novel for the times and a warning of what our future holds as the polar ice melts.
