Update 1: Fireman that start fires and books are outlawed? Woah! One of my friends recommended me this book. It started off with the protagonist: Guy Montag. Montag genuinely enjoys his work, as he doesn’t fully understand the value of literature. On his way back from work, he meets his new neighbor Clarisse McClellan- who is our age (17). She asks him many questions that revolve around his job, happiness, etc.

Update 1: The play’s setting is at the park during twilight. A young lady is sitting on a bench with a veil and fancy attire that conceal her face. As she reads a book on the bench, she accidentally drops it and a young man picks it up for her. At first, I thought this man was a random person but his body language and dialogue demonstrate he carries an important role throughout the play.

I love this book so much. Jade transformed to such a strong and vocal young woman. Although she is just a fictional character, I can’t help but feel inspired by her advocacy, strong character, artistic visions, and determination.

The author writes about a fictional police brutality case. Jade narrates how fifteen year old, Natasha Ramsey, was nearly beat to death by the police in Vancouver. After finding out about this, she prays for her to recover and she prays for Ramsey’s family as well. Jade tries talking to Sam about the Ramsey case, but she is subtly racist claiming it wasn’t because she was black.

Continuation of last post:Jade points out how as her role model she’s suppose to show her how to be strong, independent and care for herself. As a reader, I realize that this is the first time that Jade speaks up about something she cares about. Jade can now be categorized as a dynamic character as she changes from a conforming and quiet girl to someone who is mature and advocates for herself, peers, and community.
