All that romance stuff annoys me tbh. He islike what? 12? 13? Wtf does he need to promise himself to a girl?!

I'm really fucking annoyed with Willa. She is no shrinking (shrieking?) violet, but she has the morale compass of a donkey. Fucking selfish.

I don't get why she kept staying with her mom? And why anyone would let these kids stay with her. I mean before the 'end of the world' etc. That Mom isn't just crazy - she is terrifying. And why did the angels start attacking the humans?

Over 50% and I still don't like or can relate (not even a little) with the main character. LHoG is my absolute fav, and even after I hated Amber in the beginning, she makes sense to me later on, as the story and her character evolves. Mara doesn't evolve. At all. I'm sure that's intentional (kinda think I know where it's going and why) but still-- this is a hard one to read. :/ Trucking on, because I adore RLS style.
