Really surprised by the low ratings given to this book so far. Maybe as I progress it will become clearer why there's only 5 ratings and they average to just 2.2? In the mean it's very clear on what measures it uses for intelligence, and why. With all the recent hype about Artificial Intelligence, and possible singularity etc, having a definition of what intelligence actually is has to be important, surely.

So far I really like the analysis of Intelligence!

A 3.5 is probably my real rating. This is thought provoking, insightful and more nuanced than many accounts. It a story of a man (not a 'pantomime villain') and what probably makes him tick. It gave me, I believe, a better understanding of how Russia works and why. It manages to pack a lot into a very short page length and is definitely a read I'd recommend.
