Yael Veitz is starting Building a Life Worth Living: A Memoir
Oh, Marsha. A brilliant researcher and clinician, no doubt. One of the seminal thinkers of the field. She is not suited to this kind of writing. Nevertheless, I’m grateful this book exists for what insight it does offer, even if it often leaves me with more frustrations, more questions, than not.

This is the most incoherent slop I’ve ever read. It conveys nothing; it proves nothing; it all but discredits the vitally important modality Linehan created. Here’s hoping it gets better.

The unbelievability (and horrendous therapy) in this book are through the roof. Big ole yikes

Yael Veitz is starting The Man with the Compound Eyes
There are large sections of this book that excite me. It puts me in mind of both Ruth Ozeki and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The references to Oliver Sacks and Bob Dylan made me grin. Still, I wish Wu had left the question of whether or not certain events are really happening more ambiguous.

I’m speeding through this. So far, it’s like a depressing, lesbian Miracle on 34th Street. Yes, please

Yael Veitz is starting Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)
I don’t understand why this book has endured for a century. It starts off well enough, but toward the end Montgomery just breezes past Anne’s development. There’s no emotion even In outwardly emotional moments; the characterization is poor; the moralizing is almost unbearable. I expected some of it, since this is a turn-of-the-century children’s book, but this is entirely too much

I haven't read any Trump-adjacent books prior to this one because I get enough of his antics on the news. This one's different.
