Simple, straightforward, easy read so far. Will probably try doing a digital declutter at some point soon

Reading as part of a book club

A pretty tedious read, very flowery prose and definitely very biased towards the British perspective as was expected. But I’m enjoying the granular breakdown of events leading up to and after independence/partition, it’s my first time reading about a lot of these relationships and negotiations, etc.

Heartrendingly sad 😢 but I’m glad I’m learning about important history.

Just read the chapter on Luigi Vampa this book is a banger 🔥

I feel like I’m reading this at the perfect time having just visited Istanbul and sang Mozart’s Requiem…the connections are crazy

So satisfying reading this having watched the show because I can just visualize everything as it happens 🔥

The writing is so good 😩

Bro I’m “6 books behind” my reading goal for 2024 (I wanted to read 25 initially but I changed it to 20) when the truth is I have just read so many absurdly long books. Like technically Hitchhiker’s Guide should count as 5 books in and of itself…I’m just reading the Ultimate Edition 😭😭

I just recently finished The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and started Life, the Universe and Everything. I love how unserious this series is and the recurring bits sprinkled in every chapter that catch me off guard and make me genuinely laugh. So much fun 😭

Super light-hearted and refreshing to read after something as heavy and dense as Dune lol

I was having trouble describing this in my GEoD review, but I’ve been enjoying the past couple of books more because the characters are more vibrant and have more personality. I feel like the first couple of books felt dense mostly because the main characters always thought and spoke in logical puzzles

I’m hella confused to be honest. It’s been a long time since I started this book and wasn’t able to read it for a bit in the middle because of finals and stuff, but even if I had read it continuously the style of writing is so dense compared to even past Dune books, and it’s hard to keep track of everything that’s happening…but I’m just gonna keep reading lol
