i’m kinda putting this one down for a bit, kinda a soft DNF. i’m just bored with the story and the characters now that they’re “in love” and “united.” it’s transitioning to the story about lyssa’s magic which just feels kinda wonky and uninteresting to me.

i’m not sure how to feel about this book. it’s beautiful but it’s also kinda crossed over into “trying too hard.” some of it honestly just doesn’t make sense instead of being mysterious. i’m still intrigued to finish it but i most likely will not carry on. i’m not particularly attached to the characters, even this far in.

i have no idea whether to like midas or not but i’m loving the concept and the story so far. very intrigued as to what the conflict is going to end up being. still feels like im at the beginning of the book and don’t really know what’s going on still but im already halfway through.

the writing is so bad but i loved the show so much so i want to keep going 😭😭
