Noticed something interesting. About 1.5 pages into chapter 29, titled Peckem, Heller writes, "A virgin audience like Colonel Scheisskopf was grist for General Peckem's mill" and goes on to explain Peckem's talkativeness. This is similar to Mark Twain's usage of "mill" for mouth in Connecticut Yankee.
