This book legitimately reads like all of the stories I wrote in 6th grade in the back of my science notebook during study hall......please give me strength, I've only ever DNF'd one book and I intend to keep it that way...

I've already drafted my review of this book, and, y'all, it ain't pretty. I've never been actually angry about a book before, but this one has me enraged

The last time I read this series was in high school, and I remember thinking that you could tell this was written by a teenager, re: word choices & writing style. Reading it again, though, it reads just as great as Sapkowski or Novik. What a legend of a book. I'll always carry this story with me, and I am so excited to be diving into it again.

I really want to love this version, I really do...it's just difficult. (I'm spoiled by Evangeline Walton's translation, though.) I wish it were longer with more detail and explanation, as it sort of hops from one event right to the next with no explanation or transition and leaves me confused.
