The book grabbed me from page one. Written with such clarity. It makes you feel like you’ve jumped right in with the character. You see the feelings as if you were there. You look at a rose and you see all its parts. I’m loving it page by page

Mary Beth is finished with American Dirt
Finished a gripping story from beginning to end. The story drew me in and I felt I was there. People trying to migrate for a better life endure so much anguish and hardship for the price of freedom. They are determined at any cost to live free. I can better understand their determinations and the will to live a free life.

Mary Beth is finished with The Reformatory
This was a well written story based on the real facts of a reformatory in Florida during the 1950s. The story was compelling and always made you want to read on till the end.

Mary Beth is on page 100 of 432 of The Briar Club
Book for me was ok. It involved many characters with many secrets but they all came together in a house to rent. Only till the end did you learn the secrets that each held. I wish that part was more interlaced throughout the story. I did feel the writer got me into each character.

Mary Beth is on page 100 of 384 of Swan Song (Nantucket, #4)
The story kept me going but was just ok. Others have said that her other books were better. You did get to know the characters by their involvements with each other and descriptions. It did give me a feel for the life of Nantucket. A place I’d like to spend sometime on.

Mary Beth is finished with The Diamond Eye
When Hitler invades Russia Mila Panichenko joins the war. She is a sharp shooter sniper. As a woman she is respected but was never recognized for her accomplishments. Finall in the US she meets Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and they have a mutual respect for each other. Even in the US she is fighting a different war. The book was interesting and informative. Easy to read and is based on the real life of Mila Panichenko.

Mary Beth is finished with Eruption
Finished book. I liked it because it was different than reading novels. It was a fast page turner, on the edge of my seat till the end. Scary to think this could happen. Kept me in suspense.

Mary Beth is finished with Astor: The Rise and Fall of an American Fortune
The book had to be read in parts and was slow but very interesting. Each Astor was fascinating and informative. I enjoyed the end when the Astor name was tied into so many places.
