GNU Terry Pratchett

So far this is a disappointing book. I'll finish it to see what happens, but mostly because I enjoyed Howey's other books so much. I'm also kind of side-eyeing the geography of it all because, well, I live there...

"Best". Ha. I've skipped more than I've read so far.

I'm about half a chapter in, and already I don't know if I want to finish it, because the opening chapter is just... ugh.

So far the writing kind of sucks, but it's a tie-in novel so I'm not really expecting too much. I honestly don't know why I'm reading it; I swore off tie-ins after the last one (no wait, not the last one, the one before the last one - I already broke my promise. ugh.) made me want to physically scrape its residue off my brain with a machete.

Back to the nerdy stuff!

Welp, I've already skipped a story. Kind of figured I would skip a few, but I didn't think the very first story would be one of them. Should I take this as an omen?

I hate to say it, but getting through this book is a chore. I'll finish it, but unless the ending is super spectacularly amazing, I won't be continuing with the series.

I did it. I gave up on the reading challenge. I used to love it because I thought it actually challenged me to read more, but it really never did. When I'm behind, I feel like I can't read longer books because it will put me even further behind. When I read shorter books/short stories, it feels like I'm cheating. Maybe I'll go back to the challenge later, but for now I'm not going to bother.

I have a feeling this one is going to end up on my Favorites shelf.

Just in time for the 25th of May.

Trying this one again. I liked the first two books, so I'm not sure why I didn't get this one. We'll see...

On my second book in a row that's turning out to be dnf. The worst part is I can't tell if I really don't like the books, or if I'm just in a non-book mood, or if I'm too anxious about the special edition Pratchett books on their way from England to read anything else.

So I told myself I had to read more books that I don't want to keep before I can read books I do want to keep because shelf space. I was actually doing quite well and have almost a full load of books to take to the used book store. But, this one has been at the top of my pile for months, and I just couldn't keep bypassing it any longer. Hello, Death!

I love a good archaeological thriller!

Going to have to put this one on hiatus. It's giving me anxiety.

I've been so good at keeping to one book at a time, but now I'm back up to three...? What is wrong with my brain?

Trying to get into it because I want to see how the series ends, but it's just not grabbing me. I've already paused twice to read some comic books, and I'm only a few chapters in.

Not bad so far. It's always a crapshoot when established authors start co-authoring.

Re-reading while I wait for a book to come through interlibrary loan. It's been way too long since I've read this!
