This was an outstanding novel full of beautiful prose and imagery. This read comes highly recommended! I enjoyed it from start to finish five stars all the way!

The big difficult to get into at first, I found myself gradually more and more deeply immersed in the world and language of Kerouac. A rich and rewarding read. Highly recommended!!

Interesting premise which is marred by it's slow-pacing,mediocre prose and woeful predictability. I enjoyed it however I felt it could have been truly suspenseful had the narrative been pruned by a hundred pages or so.

Suspenseful and captivating. This first crime novel of Cornell Woolrich is easily his best. And enjoyable read from start to finish.

A unique Bildungsroman set in Connecticut during the era of tobacco farming. Well paced and suspenseful enough to make you want to keep reading straight through until the end. I can't wait to see the film adaptation with Claudette Colbert and Troy Donahue. Highly recommended!
