Why do we care about Luc or Lila at this point? I haven't cared the whole book through. There's been ZERO tangible evidence of any of them having been the good friends they're being presented as. There's so much info dumping happening and none of it actually gives me a better idea of how the world and the magic/alchemy/Voldemort shit works!

What a fucking marathon this is turning out to be. SOOOO much rinse and repeat. I'll definitely have some things to say at the end of it all.

I am struggling. Rochester is a giant turd - yes, keep your mad, slavering dog of a first wife locked ineffectively in the attic of the home you plan to share with your soon to be wife (who is nearly 20 years your junior), and don't tell her a thing about it. Make sure to also gaslight her when she sees said wife tear her wedding veil in half the night before said wedding.

You guys I am officially on the struggle bus. This started out so interesting and now I'm trudging through it and dreading picking it up to try and finish it. I'm skim reading it and even that doesn't feel like it's enough.

I'm actually loving this so much right now.

This book is starting to annoy me. She jumped into a fir tree, but landed in pine needles. She wants to know if her little sister can even use a sword, when literally 2 pages back she used the special sword to destroy an enemy. She was deafened by someone hitting her, but seconds later heard the gurgling grunt of an enemy that would stuck with her forever.

So much contradiction.

This is pretty good so far, but I am sick to death of the word 'snarl(ing/ed)' and "hum(s/ming) in contemplation".

Gonna have to put this one on the back burner. It's SO slow and I don't see the pace picking up at all, unfortunately, at this point.

I'm really enjoying this so far! Good pacing, interesting characters, wonderful world building - I'm hooked.

I am so bored with this right now. I have been bored with it for the last 20% and am wondering why there's SO MUCH. Realistically the book feels like it should be ending. There's enough information here now to tie it all together. Yet I see I still have at least 2 hours of reading to go. ;_;

I am really starting to hate Harper.
