What a whiplash chapter 19 was.

“The world was not supposed to be beautiful any longer. It was supposed to be dead and cold, forever mirroring the misery of Helena’s life. Instead it had moved on, tilting into a new season, and she could not. She was forever trapped in winter, in the season of death.”

Started reading this in Dutch only to find out the author wrote the original in English😆

It got slightly better

I had really high hopes for this but the first 20 pages already make me feel like she had a ghost writer for her memoir😅 at least it’s a short and quick read but dear lord I hope the writing gets better.

Kristin Hannah writes historical fiction like no one else!! Such important stories with great writing.
