I thought this was merely a light read between heavier ones for me, but this quote is going stick with me: "One thing about caretakers is they are never caregree. Without our cares, we'd just be takers like everyone else." (p. 74)

Almost halfway through (my edition has only 304 pages) and I am still just reading on in hopes that everything will soon make sense!

I'm stalled halfway even though I want to make it through this because the setting, action, spiritual elements, and characters' relationships are great. Still, this is not my favorite writing style because it is bit heavy on the physical attraction narrative, lots of locks of hair and eye color and such mentioned constantly throughout.

I am having a hard time hanging with this book! There are so many story lines that jump around on a timeline. I

I can tell this book is something special, amazing writing on important topics, but I don't agree with the age rating. Phrases like "horny for opposums" and "clingy as hell" as well as a scenario with a 7th grader struggling that her mom had nude men in her house for art and one time the 7th grader saw too much and was traumatized for weeks...this is not a book for any J reader/10 yr old I know.
