Not quite finished yet. Very interesting to see the differences between this and the show. Quentin is really a little bitch, and quite a self-destructive asshole as opposed to the awkward loveable nerd in the show.

I enjoyed reading the history. I especially loved reading about the lands outside the Seven Kingdoms. the one thing that was missing was the old and new gods. I still don't know who they are!

Very interesting. I can't tell if it was written by the same person or several people, but the tone definitely goes from pre Christian to overly Christian somewhere in the middle. The most useful information I got was at the beginning in book 1 and at the end where Agrippa was writing letters to this guy. other than that it was surprisingly Christian for a defined " occult" book.

I'm reading the part about numbers, and the number 7 is supposedly significant to human development. It says that at most man can be 7 feet tall. I thought all evidence pointed to people being shorter back then!

Ugh. This book is so bad. I'm struggling to finish it. Cassandra Clare is the next Anne Rice in the sense that she had a great idea but then just kept going until she ruined it. Not sure what her obsession is with describing Jace constantly. I'm no Freudian, but I think this is a latent cry that she needs to get LAID. BAD.
