Author describes the main character as not human, but so far he just resembles a broken, socially inept person, very depressed so empty. Is the whole book just analogy to this state of mind?

Meh? 🤷‍♀️💆‍♀️ continues to be very pretentious but the story is generally interesting enough for me to continue reading

The book is starting to feel pretentious and I'm already despising the main duo. They're are such geeky geeks, they're genius gamers and they're gonna make cool games together and become famous 😎! the guy fixed the girl's depression in a month, what a cool dude and he has problems of his own, imagine! (Excuse my sarcasm, gonna give the book another chance still)
