The book continues to remain intense. Isako and Kob pair well together.

Dystopian near future. I am wondering where optimistic views of the future have gone. Having said that, the prose is very well done in this book.

Just getting to know the main character, but the quality of writing is quite high in this book. She has won both the Hugo and Nebula awards. Her prose is quite powerful.

Yes, this is turning out to have deep similarities with a detective novel. Mystery, clues, assumptions. A main character and a partner. Enjoying the mystery.

I’m glad to see the protagonist taking a partner to fulfill her contract.

I think it is the adding of mystery that has amped up my interest. This reads like dystopian cyberpunk mystery.

The book has picked up in intensity. I am now interested.

Reading this with a book club. Dystopian cyberpunk. A world run by a corporation. The conflict is emerging about 20 percent through. So far, I appreciate the writing skill of the author but I have not been grabbed by the book.

Just getting oriented to the world and character. Not sure what to think about the book yet. It hasn’t gripped me, but I am going to continue for now.

We meet Vadar, new to his role as a Sith and new to his mechanical body. Questioning the motives of Sidious.

This book continues to fill in gaps the movie does not satisfy. Very well done.

Two things needed even more time

1. The move A from loyal Jedi and friend to pledged Sith is too abrupt (although much less abrupt than the movie). But I think more struggle and time and dialogue and a deeper personal betrayal would make it more real.

2. Anakin’s purging of the Jedi temple is too much a change, too quickly.

The exchange between Anakin and Palpatine where Palpatine reveals himself to be the Sith Lord is compelling. Much more so than the movie. Well done indeed.

As a Star Wars fan, this book brings a two-dimensional movie into three dimensions.

The write up of the confrontation between Anakin and Dooku was well written.
