I'm enjoying this book when I read it, but I'm not finding myself compelled to return to the story. And I was compelled with the last JAL book I read. sigh.

Really liking this story so far. Mainly, I just really love Judith Ivory's writing style. My only complaint is that the heroine is described as so stunningly beautiful that it's actually hard to picture her. But I like that - although beautiful - this is not a character is in any way vapid or TSTL. She seems to lament the fact that nobody (except the H) seems to see the *real* her, and I can appreciate this.

Loving it!! Writing is WONDERFUL! So much history, but it's so brilliantly interwoven with the story (i.e. no info dumps, no awkward 'hey guys looks I did research' type of dialogue). And the story... awesome so far.

The cheese factor is through the roof on this one! So bodice-rippery!

I gotta admit... this book is not compelling me to finish it. I like the story, I really do... but I'm slightly annoyed at the wall-papery feel to this book. The characters seem to be young millenials transplanted into Victorian England... and I really hate when authors do that.

This book is good... but the plot is very complicated, and the H is dealing so many really HEAVY and angsty issues... I don't know if this is what I need right now.

Since I'm listening to this on Audio I'm randomly guessing as to how far I am. The characters in this book are somewhat annoying, and yet Kleypas has a way of keeping you glued to the pages (or discs, in this case).

Enjoying it very much.

This book is pretty good so far. Seems very honest, and I love when author's hint around the fact that character's have secrets, but the reader will not be let in just yet.

Oh my gosh, I'm listening to this on audio. I intended for it to be a book I could listen to strictly on my commutes to school and work, but.... I'm finding myself listening to this even when sitting at home. I can't put it down. Getting a tad annoyed that the h won't just stand up for herself and her needs, but I guess (I hope) that's coming.

Thos book is amazing so far. I can picture everything, and I already adore the leads.

This book is very entertaining. Like - laugh out loud entertaining. And very well-written. This is the first book by Jill Barnett that I've read, but I'll probably read her again.

Very entertaining read! A nice break for me. This one has a lot of laughs within.

Writing is a little rough. Story is good, though. So far.

This book is captivating. I am almost giddy while reading it. This author is a master of writing internal dialogues. I love watching the hero slowly and believably begin to care more and more and more about the heroine without consciously realizing it. It's adorable reading how much he wants to please her, although he's loathe to admit it aloud. Love it.

Oh my... CRAZY military inaccuracies... please, Amy Lane, do at least a BIT of research before you write a book involving the military. A 20 year-old private in boot camp does NOT get offered a commissioned officer position simply because he has EMT training. You need a bachelor's degree for that. And there a HELLUVA lot more processes to get through than a Captain at boot camp telling you as much.

I love the story, but I'm already having some of the same problems with it that I usually do when I read books about the military... inaccuracies. You don't just sign up to go straight to Iraq. You enlist and go to training and go to a command. Then those commands will get deployed wherever in the world the DoD decides to send them. You don't just go to a recruiter and have them say "you're going to Iraq." Grrr.

Really enjoying it. This one has everything I love about Westerns!

Enjoying it so far, but the reading is laborious at times. And it's moving a bit frustratingly slow.

I can't put this book down, but it's kind of irritating the crap out of me. This book needs to decide what it wants to be!
