Whenever I read book reviews I end up wondering if people are being literal with “this made me cry and hyperventilate” then I wonder if something is wrong with me because I never feel emotions this strongly about books

Or is it hyperbole? I truly do not know

Rereading because I 100% have read this but never added to my shelves.

Been a while since I was enjoying something so much I felt I wanted to yap to my s/o about the concepts - there are some ways it could end that would disappoint me but I have had a good time so far!

Some much of the conflict here is fixed with an "oops my bad" honestly

Yeah the accuracy of the Macho Attitude in this is painful

Some of these chapters make me antsy and it’s difficult to read. But that is by intent. I want to punt Abigail’s parents into the sun.
Expecting an explosive conclusion that Erica’s messy relationships.

Each man introduced is a question of "how will he be terrible?" and whether this is answered immediately or not
Not a complaint, just an obvious consistency
I do enjoy the different viewpoint characters too

I’m still not overly convinced her writing style works for adult POVs, but I was a fully paid up Wilson fan as a youngster so will continue to check them out
“I love dragons. Wouldn’t it be cool to have sex with one?” and the plot related to that absolutely clotheslined me

Have not been tremendously active as I’ve moved across the world! If you read this, I hope you’re well. Finally got some time to get back into books.

Joining the Miguel get your shit together and Erykah you can do better clubs. Author got the voices of sixteen year old down well.

Some of the characters feel a little shallow (presumably because there’s SO MANY of them) but I will say this is generally good fun. The king is incredibly cartoonishly awful though.
“The cursed eel” is definitely evocative.
