Every time there's a wise old man in charge of teaching the protagonist, I always imagine the same dude. Julian from Red Queen, Dr. Erland from the Lunar Chronicles, and Hodge from this book are all the same dude.

I love this translation. The language of it is understandable yet it flows, something I didn't see in another translation. I also love the little preface before each Canto and the notes after the Canto. Not having all those footnotes makes it easy to enjoy the flow of the poem.

Since the Loyal Order of the Pack's headquarters are in the Paris Opera House, I have no choice but to assume they're descendants of the Phantom of the Opera.

For real though, I haven't read a book that does allegory this well in a LONG TIME.
