Ok I feel like listen number two is making a lot more sense bc I understand all the names and places now… boy this book is making me work for it!

It’s ok. The science fiction feels a bit generic.

It’s getting exciting

I’ve decided I don’t like the MC. She lies a lot. She justifies selfish behavior. She is getting increasingly self-righteous in this book. And she loses her temper a lot—A LOT. She’s supposed to be pure, unselfish, caring, and brave. I can acknowledge brave and caring, but I want to see character maturation. A strong YA female character doesn’t always have to be rash, stubborn, and temperamental.

I’m intrigued!

As usual, as soon as I found out there was an audiobook, here I am listening to it….

I thought I’d read more of the gorgeous hardback I drove 30 miles to buy, but I ended up listening more as usual. It started out great, but I’m kind of impatient to solve the mystery and Cameron’s line of the story is tiresome.

I’m really enjoying the costume evolution! Also I think it’s really important for Max to have community as he embarks on his magical journey. I’m glad he has friends!
