I am having such a hard time with this one because I really dislike Pamela for some reason.

I'm not sure I know what I'm reading but it's weird and uncomfortable and I cannot look away.

I'm laughing inside because I get this. Unless it's not meant to be ironic comedy, in which case I apologize for my ignorance. But I'm thoroughly enjoying even the occasional overlong bits because the man can seriously craft a sentence.

This is the first book I've ever read where personal pronouns are used, and the newer ones (zie, zir) are throwing me off a little, causing my reading to slow down , but that's not a bad thing.

Sobering.

Terrifying to read this in 2020....substitute COVID for zombies and it feels like 2020 in here....

Amazing. Gives me "Gone Girl" vibes, not in the story per se (it's unique in its own way) but in the style. You rwad from one person's perspective and then the other's, and I don't quit know who's really the bad guy yet. Un-put-downable.

In love with this book! Just ordered the second in the series.

Even though he overuses "clearly" to the point I snicker every time I read it, I can't hate. These books clearly have my attention.

This is plodding along. Not quite what I expected.

Got this on a whim, and so far rather delighted.

Love this. Into my second extreme survival book, and the lessons on how to survive from a rock climbing accident isn't that different from surviving hardship....mentally holding yourself together can be as important as years of climbing experience.

Not as gripping as many similar books, but then, each madness has its own face.

Oh dear. I've only read the preface and I already know I'm in for a troubling read. Writing about war is never easy. I am a veteran, too. Hope this book is thought-provoking and not just an avenue for slinging diatribes at people in power who are (I hope) doing the best they can with an enormous amount of information (and disinformation) thrown at them with demands from all sides to do something NOW.
