Funny how the main criticism for the book is that it puts in too many words concepts that would have fit on a piece of paper. It only means that the book makes it seem in 184 pages that valuing a company is a simple job. I haven't read the same criticism for the 800 pages behemoth, The Intelligent Investor. :) Kudos for Greenblatt, means he's a great teacher.

The greatest merit of this book is that it puts monetary policy into stock's market perspective and because it's about 20 years since it was written, it doesn't cut out the work for you but how can you be winning if you ain't be working?

A Hut on the Roof 3/5 - Something more than a friendship.
An Elevator on Sunday 4/5 - Probably the only story with any action to mention, beside Mummy. Refreshing bitter-sweet ending for the whole collection.

Mambo 2/5: Something about taking your sexual desire on a leash for a walk. Instructions unclear.
Vortex 3/5: In the same reflexive tone as Dad, I love you but less engaging for me. Reminded me of Remains of the day: a meditation on one's own life. The title, Vortex, symbolizes Death, seen here as a new beginning, a regression or a return back to ancestry in due course. Not yet there to feel it.

A House for Two - 5/5. Stories that appeal to personal experience are a feast. Such is this story of a possesive mother through the eyes of the spinster daughter.

It's amazing how short to a cheap deal Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-Un came to be and how much propping it took for that not to happen.

I'm impressed with the scarcity of gossip and the richness of the inner workings of the Administration. So far, the book reads like a journal detailing a daily program with pertinent opinions appended to each step of the day.

Quarantine day 22: it may found a new host. The storyteller, with the help of his oulipomancy, pulled a thing out through three layers of stories and planted it within the reader, me. By the end of it all, I'll have to buy and install cardboard blinders with tinfoil on the exterior, measuring tape across the walls to keep their size in check, I'll ditch all useless furniture and keep to a lighter...to end the book.
