Moving, heartbreaking, and at times lyrical. I listened to the audio version which is read by Julia Roberts and Riley Keough, interspersed with extracts from the original tapes that Lisa. Marie made for this book.

THE DOUBLE LIFE OF BENSON YU is an experimental novel, yes, but it's also incredibly moving and highly readable. Through this story of a comic book creator and the character based on his younger self, Chong explores creativity and the long-lasting impact of childhood abuse. I read it in a couple of days, but I can already tell that it will stick with me for a long time.

Very entertaining!

Parashar introduces difficult topics such as sexual abuse and prejudice brought on by a medical issue (hemophilia) in this unusual romance featuring Indian expats in Spain. Loved the sense of place and the insights into Indian culture!

Not the book to read if you want learn about Japanese culture, but fun, all the same.
