Darlene Franklin is finished with The Handmaid's Tale (The Handmaid's Tale, #1)
I enjoyed this book but frankly I'm surprised that this 30-year-old book is #1 in classic women's fiction and # i in dystopian science fiction. I will say it got me started reading it, turning the pages. I especially appreciated the way the author explained the themes of the book and the ending of the story via a epilogue at the end of the book.

I'm reading this because the title suggested perhaps a Christmas-themed mystery. It is indeed set at Christmas time and it's a good story, but that's about as much as it has to do with Christmas. Next up: reading the collection my story Matchmaker Mixup appears in, Merry Matchmakers. (If I finish this before Christmas!)

Looking at Jesus' birth in the stable. "The Lord chose to be born into poverty, to identify with the unseen of society--the unkempt, the unpopular, the undernourshed.
