beautiful & haunting. i am lingering in certain paragraphs because i am finding it hard to move on.

years ago, i stopped reading this book at page 68, chapter 3. i remember exactly what was tumbling through my mind at the time and the reason i stopped and it was not because of capote. for as many years, i have not been able to pick up capote again. his words are beautiful & sharp & poetic. i'm finally ready to finish other voices, other rooms.

mid-read review: while this is a very informative book, the author almost relentlessly portrays bundy as being "intelligent" and having "ethics" (in some regards) - as if this guy hadn't done all the horrible things he'd done. it seems as though she was never entirely convinced of his guilt but still wants to defend him on some level, and she's trying to balance the bad with a few good deeds.
