The first 90 pages were a little slow, then it picks up the pace and never slows down. Holy shit I didn’t expect to read almost the entire book in one sitting but here we are. I’m a little confused by some of the decisions the characters make (will kissing katherine, devon killing robert, etc.) but that has not impacted my enjoyment in the slightest! So so excited to finish the book tomorrow.

Meh, it’s taken me like a year to get this far because I’m bored and everyone feels like a cliche. maybe i’ll like it more if i keep reading

Ok I am very interested in the political shit going on now and I am very happy that there’s a lot less focus now on the weird sex slave stuff. However the Regent makes my skin CRAWL. He is truly horrible and i wish him a very castration and slow death. The line about Laurent changing from when he was “such a lovely boy” makes me feel ILL.

I’m very conflicted about this book because it is. very fucked up. I feel that it’s tap dancing on the line between dark romance and sex slave rape fantasy, and I kind of hate that I’m genuinely interested in the (non sexual) dynamic between Laurent and Damen. Idk i’m feeling a little icky about things, hopefully there will be a change soon? We will see.

Ok now I see why people said that A Restless Truth was lackluster compared to this book because WOW I love it. Of course this is the book where the whole series comes to a head, but that aside I really love the enemies to lovers that we get with Jack and Alan, ESPECIALLY THE WAY IT BACKTRACKS!! Love the angst and although I adore all the other characters I do think that Jack and Alan have the most fun dynamic.

Still cute and I can tell it’s starting to pick up! The timeline is so wild to me though, I feel like everything has been going on for weeks but it’s only been like 3 days.

A fun little shipboard mystery so far! It’s moving rather slowly but I thought the same about A Marvellous Light, and that ended up picking up in the second half. I like the dynamic that Maud and Violet have so far, and I do love the starting snippets of Hawthorne and Ross so far!

Never mind any love I had has been lost because they had sex in a crowded uber. I’m only reading this for Henry.

Growing on me like a fungus… I want to hate it but Nate is kind of a cutie patootie. Henry is my favorite character though I adore him he’s got that autistic swag.

WE GET IT!!! YOU’RE SKINNY!!!!! If you took a shot every time Anastasia mentions her weight/how little she eats/how small she is in just this portion of the book, you’d get alcohol poisoning.

So far there’s a lot of good chemistry happening between Edwin and Robin. Their relationship is completely but developing, and I’m excited to see how it grows as they find more in common with each other despite the overwhelming differences they have.
