Well I’ve made it to over half the book.
Keep,thinking about giving up or skipping to,the end .
Theo, the prodigy, is truly getting on my nerves.
And really not much is happening apart from him giving portraits away and being an amazing person, 🤮

Wel, so far it’s all a bit ridiculous. And irritating. Might have to skim through it as am not enjoying it at all so far.

So far it’s a real struggle to get into this book.
Doesn’t hold my attention at all yet. Will give it a bit longer as you never know, and it does seem like a quick read.

I have chosen this book to pull me out of my reading comfort zone. Will see how it goes!

Oh happy days , a new Kim Stone book to get into! No work today, so coffee , garden and kindle. Heaven.

This book has gripped me from page 1 so far!
Just can’t put it down, can see it ending in tears though.
Very well written, loving the story telling.

So far this book, which holds great promise, is proving to be a bit of a struggle to get through. Maria’s character isn’t multifaceted for me, and I’m not taking to her at all. No warmth so far. Will stick at it a bit longer.

It’s rather slooooooow! I do want to know what will happen next, but gosh it all gets dragged out for no reason at all.

Happy me! I’ve got a week off and this book came out, love this series, I’m sure this latest instalment won’t disappoint, and it means I can sit in the garden, drink coffee and read a good book. Only a few chapters in , its hotting up nicely. See you on the other side!

How is the book?
Very, very slow!
So much unnecessary detail.
I wish it would speed up and get to the point of it all.
Will stick at it a little longer .

So far so boring ! I’m just flicking through it now, to see what happens at the end.

Struggling with this one to be honest. All this jumping ahead through time, missing out huge chunks. Just about interested enough to carry on reading , but only just.

Loving it, loving it. Great fan of this series anyway.

It’s slow going. Beautifully written, atmospheric, but not much is happening!

Really liking this so far, a proper page turner! Just what I needed to keep my mind of physical pain right now. Very readable and intriguing. Hard to put down.

I’m bored! But I’ll give it till 25%, hoping it will grasp my attention . So far male soft in the head people pleaser who’s married to some selfish woman has given up his job to start his own business. By now it’s rather obvious this will fail and wife will leave him for his former boss. I’m skimming through the pages quite a bit, never a good sign. Oh well

So far so good! Being a Dutch woman who lives in the UK the settings of this book ( Amsterdam and London so far) are perfect for me.
The author has obviously lived in the Netherlands , which helps. Just one tiny niggle, she called one of the main characters Vim. Vim is not a Dutch name, Wim is. Would make no difference to anyone non Dutch though!

So far so slow! I like the fact I can keep up with it, but it needs more oomph, it's not a page turner.

On page 70 and not sure if I want to carry on or not! So far I'm not overly bothered by any of it, and college age characters, especially stereotypical blond ones don't interest me. Don't know what to do!!

Really enjoying this! Took a bit of time to warm to it but can't put it down now.

Yes! It has started to suck me in!! Promising to be a good read so far. Why do I never have enough time to read????

Oh yes, I've been waiting to read this for ages! Off sick at moment, perfect opportunity for a treat. 16% in on the Kindle version, and it's gripped me from the very first paragraph. So far it's atmospheric, gory and proper Tess Gerritsen.

My daughter recommended this book to me, she is 19, and loved it. So far I'm struggling a bit. Really getting sick to death of elephant behaviour description! So skipping chunks. Jenna is suppose to be 13 years old. Young teens don't talk or act like she does. Even precocious ones don't. Plus at that age you can't babysit your teachers children yet.

This book has very mixed reviews, but I've always wanted to read it, so I'll give it a go anyway!

Struggling with this book, might have to give up on it! Too many sub plots, too many links to previous books in this series. Near impossible to get into. But I kind of want to know how it ends...
