I picked this book up impulsively while browsing at the library. It is so interesting to learn of her story and how she stayed true to who she is while facing much adversity, judgment and discrimination. It is especially striking that she names those who should have been in her corner and weren't. She was often on her own facing the stiffest competition.

This is a Goodreads giveaway! I am really enjoying it. I never read a book by this author and I am enjoying this one so far.

Couldn't finish it. The history of cancer treatment and research is interesting and the author did an amazing job condensing so much information. I just got tired of the subject half-way through. My book club liked it a lot.

Book on CD - Ok, this is a pretty downer book. I have to turn it off sometimes. Hope it gets a little lighter soon.

Just picked it up from library and am excited to get into it. Started it on my lunch break

This is another stellar Mankell mystery! I'm listenting to it on CD and hate to leave my car it's so good. Only about 4 more CDs to go.

Not going to finish this one.

I cannot get into this book and there's so many others I'm dying to read.Quitting this one.

So far, so good. I like the history. I can see the treachery coming.

This one is a reading aloud book and it WILL be done this last weekend of my vacation.
