The website states there are 985 pages but my e-reader just says 788.

It is pretty dry reading actually; I am up to the Stuarts now but have already found one error - in her account of Mary Boleyn the author listed a descendant as Mary Bowes-Lyon, the mother of Elizabeth II - Queen Elizabeth's mother's name was also Elizabeth and not Mary.

and already I felt as though I read this book already. Sure enough, checking back I see I read it in August 2009. The title was not familiar but the story is. I gave it 3 stars in my PDA list.
