I really enjoy how flexible this book is about easing up on self-criticism.

This would be incredibly dry as a physical book, but as an audiobook, it's kind of interesting.

Much like emails, this book feels like a lot of words that aren't really creating value to the message it's trying to communicate. But at least it's an easy read and I do love Cal Newport's values.

Yesss loving the love for boundaries! I also adore the recognition of setting too hard of boundaries limits human connection. It's too often that these books promote setting boundaries without the warning that boundaries do have limits in relationships.

I'm all for whatever is going on with Lark. He's very interesting.

This is really cool!! I'm really enjoying this feminist cowboy book!! It's a lot of fun!!

I really am struggling to connect with this story. I think the issue is that I just don't connect with the characters or their motives. I'd honestly DNF if it wasn't Travis Baldree but alas I shall persist and hope it all comes together by the end.

This just makes me want to go back and re-read Legends & Lattes for the 4th time lol

The romance here, so far, is not my jam but gosh darn it these characters are the CUTEST and I love them so much even though their romantic connection is a bit lacking.

I love, love, love this book so far. I'm pleasantly surprised about how engaging and easy it is to read.

I can't tell if it's a relief or not that history has repeatedly had the same problem of viewing marriage/romance as transactional rather than authentic connections. But I am validated by the fact I probably wouldn't personally get a tax break from marriage, but my potential husband probably would. 🫠

Book club book. We're not supposed to like June, right? She's already obnoxious with how jealous she is of literally everyone and everything around her. She's supposed to be nearly 40 and she sounds 18.

DNF - this really is just sex. I guess Shane's conflict with his identity is kind of interesting, but we really don't focus enough on it. I don't even understand where the actual conflict or rivalry between the characters is coming from because we get auto-attraction from the very beginning and don't even see another character until we meet Shane's parents 20% in. Not for me, happy for everyone else.

I got this book for free and need the palate cleanser from Katabasis. I didn't think we asked for a list of all of the ways your family sucked but go off, Mel Robbins 🤣
