However, I will say I'm struggling to connect with the people because they're so goddamn rich. Some paragraphs are just name drops of luxury brands with the implication that everyone knows what they are. Not that rich people don't have problems, but it's just a struggle for me to connect to their problems because they're not the same.

I enjoyed the insights offered from my previous experience in therapy but honestly my life is going good at the moment so I think it would just be a waste of my time and money to play "but what about THIS" with a mental health professional lol. This is a book for cat lovers, and I'm not a cat lover, but I do love my dog an awful lot and I can relate a lot to the same appreciation for a very loyal pet.

The strength of this book is the neutral explanations of the geiko/Geisha lifestyle from someone embedded fully in the culture. The weakness is when she talks about her own perspective about her life because she never does anything wrong ever and if she does, we should all feel bad about it.
