Well I like the worldbuilding (high fantasy ancient Japan?) and lore (the incorporation of folk demons + the footnotes and the namesake of Nihaoi is really nice lol)

...even if the prose/voice is...verbose :') I guess that's just how Ancient High Fantasy tends to be and I'm not used to it anymore lol...

Oh boy, how exciting there's an entire section just for combining palmistry with other esoteric arts like reflexology and astrology 😍😍😍 I love combining practices!!

Lmao I just got done reading Alanis Morisette's intro. I'm not surprised her wack ENFP (and prob E4) ass is into this woowoo esoteric ~Jungian shadow~ and ~higher self~ shit. I skimmed the book summary before downloading (Kindle Unlimited) and am intrigued at the premise of reconciling the parts of yourself but am sooooo immediately weary of any ""higher self"" woowoo shit talk lol ESP in psych...fingers crossed -_-
