Why did it take me so long to read this? It is such a delight!

I'm really enjoying this one! But I wish the title were something other than "City of Brass". There are far too many "City Of" books and I keep forgetting which one this city is of...

I’m wondering if I should continue reading this book. I’m a bit less than halfway through and I think I may have been expecting a more quirky read.

Hmmm I am thinking Lethem is not fond of Singapore

I think the problem w this book is how it's marketed as a Jane Eyre retelling. When you hear that you have expectations. Instead if you come to this book expecting a story about a young Korean-American who takes on a job as an au pair as a way to escape her miserable life working at her uncle's store, then I think it is far more enjoyable a read than constantly wondering, is this really what Jane would do?

oh dear is the first Rainbow Rowell novel that I'm going to DNF?

I can't stop reading this collection. partly because of the way Lucia Berlin writes. Partly because some of the short stories are just so very short and partly because my e-book loan is due to expire!

A reread after I finally bought my own (brand new) copy of the childhood fave

one of those children's classics that I've never read!
