This has such good reviews but I am finding the mmc totally unlikeable in the way he treats and thinks about the fmc. Am I supposed to forget how atrocious he is at the end?

I'm not usually one for over the top trigger warnings, but for what actually happens on the page in this, I feel like it really should have had a warning.

I chose this because I read a few reviews and recommendations describing it as "a warm hug in book form". So far it seems to just being putting me to sleep. I'm confused what the point is.
