Next month, in June 2026, is this book's 100th Birthday. Confetti. So we'll see how it's as an reading experience. But tbh, I've been spoiled so I already know who's the murderer. The journey is the destination.

I'm reading this for the Escapist Spring Challenge and I hope it's good, I need something good.

Oh... so Midhat (The Parisian) is returning from Paris to Nablus and back home everybody thinks he became a medical doctor but he didn't finish going to med school and so maybe this is going to be interesting after all.

Finally. The plot moves to Paris. Took them long enough.

I have a hard time warming up to any of the characters. Also, no Paris in sight. Who's gonna be "the Parisian"?
