Incredibly interesting. Incredibly distressing. Incredibly educational. I'm just struggling. Reads like a textbook, but I want to complete it.

Incredibly distressing at only 100 pages in. The cycle of treaties and compromise just to be thrown out by the whites in savage raids against the Native Americans is already so apparent.

It's remarkable and scary how little we learn of these events in school. I learned about Wounded Knee through Bioshock Infinite. That should never be the case. I admire this book's willingness to examine revisionist history.

Incredible. So happy to be back in this world - There is no fantasy author who crafts characters as well as Joe Abercrombie and I’m so glad to see the evolution of Joe’s female character writing. Savine and Rikke are probably my favorite characters so far.
