This was a tough listen but probably an important one too.

I can’t even finish this. I wouldn’t accept this level of digression or snark (e.g. “mathy maths” 🙄) from an undergrad. Nary a counterargument is considered. Sure, there are endnotes, but the main text is mostly assertion and pathos. I’m hardly a “booster,” but this book is clearly designed to appeal only to those who have already made up their minds.

Obviously I’m not still reading this. And maybe I never will. Ugggggghhhhhh.

I might have to abandon this one. I just can’t get into it. There are too many characters and they’re not around long enough for me to get invested.

Read an interesting interview with this author and wanted to learn more.

I’m not sure I’ll finish this one. I was a little more than halfway through when my ebook loan expired, and the library doesn’t seem to have it anymore, and I wasn’t enjoying it enough to buy jt. It’s less a manifesto than a memoir, and instead of a systematic critique, it reads like a list of personal grievances (at least up to the point where I lost access).

Decided to cheer myself up with some trash and prepare for the HBO reboot. Turns out the version they sell in Australia inexplicably gives the blog the address gossipgirl.co.uk, which makes NO SENSE given that the Upper East Side is basically a character. Very unhappy.

Plowed through half of this on the beach today. I’ll have to go back and finish it tomorrow!

This one is for my book club and I am really struggling. I will probably abandon it after we discuss it tonight.
