Erin is starting Nobody's Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice
This was a tough listen but probably an important one too.

Erin is on page 67 of 288 of The AI Con: How to Fight Big Tech’s Hype and Create the Future We Want – Exposing Surveillance Capitalism and Artificial Intelligence Myths in Information Technology Today
I can’t even finish this. I wouldn’t accept this level of digression or snark (e.g. “mathy maths” 🙄) from an undergrad. Nary a counterargument is considered. Sure, there are endnotes, but the main text is mostly assertion and pathos. I’m hardly a “booster,” but this book is clearly designed to appeal only to those who have already made up their minds.

I might have to abandon this one. I just can’t get into it. There are too many characters and they’re not around long enough for me to get invested.

Erin is starting The Yoga Manifesto: How Yoga Helped Me and Why it Needs to Save Itself
I’m not sure I’ll finish this one. I was a little more than halfway through when my ebook loan expired, and the library doesn’t seem to have it anymore, and I wasn’t enjoying it enough to buy jt. It’s less a manifesto than a memoir, and instead of a systematic critique, it reads like a list of personal grievances (at least up to the point where I lost access).

Erin is starting Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1)
Decided to cheer myself up with some trash and prepare for the HBO reboot. Turns out the version they sell in Australia inexplicably gives the blog the address gossipgirl.co.uk, which makes NO SENSE given that the Upper East Side is basically a character. Very unhappy.

Found in my building’s little free library. An ideal beach read.

This one is for my book club and I am really struggling. I will probably abandon it after we discuss it tonight.
