Starting to think about DNFing. It's so shallow and ... meh. I just don't care anymore. Worldbuilding is great. Rest of it? Sigh.

Mmm... I think this one's going on pause. The rambly nature of the writing is really grating on me.

I find I really want a book of Malar's story. Something about a grizzled old soldier character that just strikes a chord with me, and his skill... I want to see where that came from and how he navigates the world, what he's gotten upto over the years.

It's strange, I've got this far and feel like finally something is happening. Which isn't quite right, plenty has happened, it's all just felt a little.. soft? Dreamy? I'm enjoying it though, usually if a book feels like nothing much is going on I get so bored but I've been so enamoured with the library, and getting into Livira's character. She has been a little one-note, but there are moments as she ages up. :)

Okay, so this book is certainly slow, vibesy and strange. But it's written in a very straight forward way and I'm finding myself fascinated and struggling to put it down. I just want to know more, constantly. Very relieved this is working for me as I on some mad whim got the full trilogy in special edition. xD
