This is my second attempt at reading one of Hazelwood’s books, the first one DNF, and I think I’m just not a fan of her writing. That’s being compounded by her sloppy take on werewolves/vampires. For someone hell bent on writing new canon, not a lot of it makes sense nor is consistent. Hope the smut does the heavy lifting I guess.

I’m truly happy for all you ACOTAR girlies who love this series, but I’m ready to yeet this book into the trash. I keep reading descriptions of the men in this book on Reddit as “layered” and “complicated”, and they’re all just toxic and fucking irritating. I don’t actually believe SJM has the writing chops to pull off any sort of redemption arc that would not piss me off.
